Wound takes the shape of a scar that the artist has from an injury. The piece is about both physical and psychological trauma, things that heal and things that leave permanent marks on us both visible and invisible. The alabaster chosen for this hand-carved piece resembles skin. The veins and cracks of the stone reflect vessels in the body and the greyish-brown shades that show through the translucent milky-white material are like bruises.
